What are Clinical Commissioning Groups?

Clinical Commissioning Groups or 'CCGs' are a new kind of organisation. They were created in April 2013 and are made up of all the local GP surgeries. The role of an NHS CCG is to commission NHS services on behalf of the people who live in the area.

NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is made up of all 41 GP surgeries in Southwark. This section explains what our job is in Southwark by providing information on who we are and what we do. You can read about what commissioning is and find more information about the services we commission for Southwark residents.

This section also provides information on our Governance systems which ensure our organisation is managed efficiently, ethically, legally, and transparently. You can also read about our commitments to Equality and Diversity.
