Important information for patients of St James Church Surgery, Thurland Road, SE16 4AA
Following a recent inspection the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has taken urgent enforcement action, which means that St James Church Surgery has closed and services to patients at the practice under the care of Dr Zigmond have been cancelled with effect from 11 July 2016.
The CQC is a national organisation, responsible for inspecting the quality of all health services. Their inspection report of St James Church Surgery will be published and available in due course on the CQC website.
Ensuring everyone has access to the best possible GP services is the priority for joint commissioners of primary care services in Southwark - NHS England (London) and NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group.
We have put in place immediate arrangements to make sure that all of Dr Zigmond's patients can continue to see a GP and get all the normal services they would expect through Quay Health Solutions (QHS) at Southwark's Extended Primary Care Service. The service is located within two minutes walking distance at Spa Medical Centre, 50 Old Jamaica Road, SE16 4BN.
Quay Health Solutions will be able to access your medical record and offer you appointments between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. Please phone 020 3049 8782 to arrange an urgent or routine appointment. This number is for use only by patients of St James Church Surgery.
If you have a booked appointment for this week with Dr Zigmond, please get in touch urgently with Quay Health Solutions on the telephone number above and they will arrange for you to see a clinician. If you need to see a doctor and Quay Health Solutions is closed, please call the GP out of hours service, SELDOC, on 020 8693 9066.
If you prefer to register with another practice, you can contact one close to where you live by calling them or walking into the practice. A list of practices and reviews from patients is available at NHS Choices.
NHS England and NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group will keep all registered patients updated about the longer term arrangements.
If you have any additional questions or queries, please contact NHS England 020 3182 4996 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
