Building the health centre
Construction on the new health centre at Dulwich is well underway, with the development scheduled to be opened in a phased approach from the beginning of April 2020.
Following the naming competition, the new building sign has been installed in February 2020.

Watch our short 'fly-through' virtual tour video, which shows a preview of what the finished building may look like inside and outside:
Please note: we are still working with patients and staff to help design the inside of the building. You can read more about our workshops and engagement events on the 'Preparing occupation' page.
Construction
July 2019
What a difference a year makes...
In July 2018 we held a ground-breaking ceremony to mark the first official day of construction on the new health centre. Over the past 12 months, the site has been transformed beyond recognition, which is a real testament to all the people who've worked so hard to bring this project to fruition.
Significant progress has been made, with the brickwork now installed and the internal work continuing as anticipated.
We've also reached the stage where the health centre needs a permanent name - and we want patients and NHS staff in south Southwark to help decide. Find out more about the naming process and how you can get involved.
'Topping out' ceremony marks significant milestones
On 12 April we marked the structural completion of the new health centre with a traditional 'topping out' ceremony. Dozens of guests attended the celebration, including the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Catherine Rose, and Dulwich and West Norwood MP, Helen Hayes.
Attendees donned their hard hats and high-visibility jackets and took to the roof, where they officially 'topped out' the building with a demonstration of their cementing and brick-laying skills.
