Mental health support groups
Guided Self Help Groups – For people with a long term condition e.g. diabetes, chronic fatigue. To find out more, ask your health worker to discuss the programme and answer any questions you may have, contact your GP to refer you, or you can call directly on 020 3228 2194.
Dragon Café - The Dragon Café is a relaxing café providing creative activities all day from 12noon to 8:30pm on Mondays (starting 17th February 2014). The sessions are all free and everyone is welcome. All the café ask, is that you pay for your own lunch. The Dragon Café is located in the Crypt of St George the Martyr Church, opposite Borough tube station.
Women's Forum - Monthly meetings run by Lambeth & Southwark Mind aiming to provide a safe and supportive environment for women who have used mental health services. Free massage and lunch is provided. The Forum runs from 12noon- 2pm at Inspire the Crypt, St Peters Church, Liverpool Grove, SE17 2HH. Contact Hanne at firstname.lastname@example.org or just turn up.
Support for your wellbeing
Southwark Wellbeing Workshops - a series of free, day-long psycho-educational workshops which aim to offer help to residents of Southwark experiencing stress, low self-confidence or disturbed sleep. Go to the South London and Maudsley Trust website for future workshop dates.
Healthy living books to improve your health and mental wellbeing - Self-help books can be very effective in helping with mental wellbeing. Healthy eating, weight management, physical activity and ways to stop smoking are addressed. A list of high quality self-help books are available to be borrowed free of charge in every Southwark library.
