How we are organised
Southwark residents and patients
Local patients and residents of Southwark are at the heart of what we do. We want to make sure we achieve the best possible health outcomes for Southwark people. We do this by asking local people what they think of their NHS services and what we can do to improve them. To have your say or find out more about our engagement events and projects go to the Get Involved section.
All Southwark's GP practices
NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group is a membership organisation. All of the GP practices in Southwark are members and have elected the NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Governing Body. The membership body sets the direction of the organisation.
The doctors and nurses working at GP practices are well placed to lead NHS commissioning because they talk to and treat patients every day. Having local clinicians working together with patients to plan and manage health services means that we can focus more on the quality and clinical effectiveness of care than ever before.
A council of Southwark's GP practices
The Council of Members is the CCG's forum for member practices to engage directly with the organisation's Governing Body. Representatives from the surgeries come together as a group to set the organisation's goals and the CCG works to achieve them.
The agendas and minutes of the Council of Members meetings are available on the Meeting papers page.
The Southwark CCG Governing Body and sub-committees
The role of the Governing Body and its executive members is to deliver on the plans agreed by the Council of Members.
Our Governing Body meets every other month in public, the meeting dates are on our Events Calendar. For information on what was discussed at past meetings go to the Meeting Papers section. You can meet our Governing Body members by following the link on the left hand side of the page.
The Governing Body also works through smaller specialist committees, you can find out more about these on the Governing Body sub committees page.
