The Extended Primary Care Service ( EPCS) launched in November 2014, to make it easier for Southwark residents to access a GP or nurse at a time that suits them.  The service is delivered by groups of GP practices working together within GP federations, and provides extra appointments in the daytime, evening and at weekends from two locations in Southwark.  It's open 8am-8pm, 7 days a week.  Patients can be booked in through their GP practice, or via the GP out-of-hours service, SELDOC, when their surgery is closed.

You can find out more about the service under our plans.

An independent review of the EPCS has recently been completed, which looked to review the design, delivery, and impact of the service; including patient experience.  The evaluation report, alongside the CCG's response to any recommendations, will be published on the CCG's website in early summer.  The report will also be shared with GP practices and Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) to inform future service developments and patient awareness of the service.

We are currently reviewing our communications approach for the service now that it has been up and running for some time.  If you would be interested in being part of a focus group to help develop patient-facing communications, then please get in touch: phone 020 7525 7888, email souccg.southwark-ccg@nhs.net
