GP service provision for patients registered with Grange Road Surgery

Following the resignation and retirement of the partners at Grange Road Practice in May 2016, NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS England made a temporary arrangement with Nexus Health Group to continue to provide GP services to patients at the practice until a permanent solution could be found.

The CCG has assessed all the possible options for the future of the practice.  The outcome of that assessment was a decision to ask patients to register at nearby practices. There are 10 practices within one mile of the current Grange Road Practice and all local practices are currently accepting new patients. Grange Road Practice will close on 30 June 2017.

The CCG has written to all patients to tell them where their nearest practices are and how to register. The CCG has also arranged two drop in sessions for patients to answer any concerns and provide support and advice.  Nexus Health Group, the current caretaker, is working closely with the CCG to identify vulnerable patients who may need support to register with a new practice.

The CCG advises people to register as promptly as they can but it is possible to register with a new practice at any time after 30 June. If a patient has immediate health needs, we would recommend that they register as quickly as possible.

If patients have any questions they should contact the practice on 020 3049 7220 up until 30 June.

After 30 June patients can call the NHS Customer Helpline on 0300 311 2233 or Healthwatch Southwark on 020 7358 7008 for advice about registering with a GP.
